Unaccompanied Fingerstyle Delta Blues in E

Hi folks, here is my attempt at Alex’s “Play Delta Blues by yourself!” lesson. It’s a bit rough and rushed through. I’m also a noob at recording, mixing and all that jazz… But hey, the more you do - the more you learn! Hope you enjoy it!

Oh, one more thing: you can guess who inspired me getting that hat

Thanks a lot, Zohar! It’s a lovely and a pleasant to play tune indeed!

Yeah, I also love the looks of this guitar. It doesn’t have the truss rod, but a very chunky “baseball bat” neck! It made it tricky to play a few places when you need to fret with your thumb, like that B7#5 chord. So no vibrato there! I also had a luthier to carve me a new saddle with increased string spacing, that did help a bit!

Definitely got a good bluesy feel my friend… you’re pretty young to have the blues like that!:grin::grin:

haha, thanks so much, Nelson! Sadly, I’m not as young as I appear on these videos  Or it’s rather fortunate that I still appear young on them

Hi Sava,
Hats off man, really nice! Great to see some other members exposing themselves :grinning:.
I love this style, been incorporating this tune as much as possible in my practice. That thumb independence has been bugging me for a long enough.
Keep it up, your recording sounded just fine to me as well!
Take care!

Thanks a lot! Your videos inspired me to make mine and share here too. Yes, the thumb independence is a very tricky thing indeed! Especially trying to improvise while keeping it consistent is very challenging. But, like with everything else, I’m sure it should be possible with lots of practice.

I love it that my efforts sparked your ambition, or willingness to post a video, I was almost starting to feel lonely out here :grinning:
