I’ll start with something that if you don’t know, I think you should: Dean Hightower.
Dean Hightower is actually George Barnes doing surf music, at the request of his record company (to my understanding).
Another weekly listen for me is some hypnotic-monotones-yet-melodic-post-rock-instrumental -kinda-thing: Brokeback.

I’m a big fan of Astor Piazzola’s music, some of which has been beautifully arranged for solo or duo guitar. So am I (a big fan). There’s loads of great Argentinian guitar music out there in styles: (Milonga, Tango, Zamba, Chacarera).
I notice this week that Alex uploaded the Girl from Ipanema. Here’s is an album that my parents played a lot when I was young. The guitarist: Laurindo Almeida, was among a few notable ones (Luiz Bonfa, Joao Gilberto) who did albums with Stan Getz in the early 1960s. Here is the album I like.

These guys are in heavy rotation with me the past few weeks. I was fortunate enough to see Twanguero Diego Garcia and Paul Pigat play together recently, mind blowing. Two fantastic players that deserve more recognition.
Those are two of my favorites as well! That’s tommy Harkerider in the Pigat video as well. He’s a master. Great tutorials.
I am lucky to live in the same town as Paul and get to see him a lot. Tommy smokes too!
Are you in Canada then? Is that where Pigat lives?
