New member and just started working on Alex’s arrangement of Don’t Let Me Down. Bar 1 has an interesting slide on beat 4 from the major sixth interval shape on fret 7 (A and F#) up to the minor 6th interval (C# and A) on the tenth fret. I noticed Alex using 3rd and 4th fingers on this lick, but I found it awkward because you need to pull off to another finger as you slide up in order to arrive at the correct interval when you reach the tenth fret. I use the 2nd and 3rd fingers with the 1st finger backing up the 3rd finger as if I were going to bend the note, then release the 3rd finger as I slide. It’s comfortable and the artiiculation is clean and clear. Hopefully that is a clear description.
I suppose its whatever works best for you, I was a little surprised to run into a kink on the very first bar of the tune and a bit surprised that I haven’t run into this before.
Great tune, btw, the R&B twist on this classic.
