A work in progress, recorded with a phone, if any of you have any feedback or tips I’ll be pleased to hear them. Once I’ve got it down a bit better I’ll see if I can work out how to record it directly through a DAW with my Yamaha silent nylon string guitar. Might be a steep learning curve, I haven’t done it before.
Great stuff Steve, really nice! No tips for improvement from me .
How did you manage to upload the video directly to the forum? I could only manage to get a link into it, no video file. I also recorded with my phone, which is a bit cumbersome and lacking in audio quality, but then again, it does make it easy to record oneself and post it before you get cold feet .
Thank you!
“Before you get cold feet” - Yep, exactly! This recording is actually the first time I got through it without snatching at the bit where it goes “I know I need never care dah dah dah dah dah dah dah… But to lover her”, Tricky that dah dah bit, hence the smirk at the end
All I did was post the YouTube link here and the rest happened as if by magic…
So incredibly well done Steve, beautiful across the board. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Alex! Look out for take 2
Brilliant Steve, I have to admit, I’m not hugely familiar with the tune but I thought you did a great job of highlighting that beautiful melody and supporting it well with the chord tones. Look forward to seeing any updates
Thanks Gideon, much appreciated! Watch this space for the update
I love it. Heart felt. It reminds me of the covers Caetano Veloso (Brazilian singer songwriter god) recorded on acoustic guitar, “For no one,”, “Lady Madonna” and “Eleanor Rigby”. Check it out, although I wouldn’t be surprised if you were already familiar with Caetano’s covers.
Thanks Jerome! Much appreciated. I wasn’t familiar with Caetano but I am now, so thanks for that too. What a beautiful tone on For no one!
